Hi! I'm Belén, Midwife, Pediatric Nurse, and Child Sleep Consultant
I’m Belén Chocano, Midwife and Nurse Specialized in Pediatrics, and I have been working in the pediatric healthcare field since 2006.
I created Bel & Mums with the goal of improving the experience of motherhood and fatherhood.
What I really enjoy about my profession is being able to help mothers and fathers prepare for the changes that the birth of a child brings in its different stages. So, together with my small team of wonderful healthcare professionals with a true calling to help, we offer you all the care you need from pregnancy through the first years of parenting.
The services we offer are aimed at moving away from fears and insecurities to promote the well-being of all members of the new family. As we say at Bel & Mums over and over again: “Happy parents make happy babies”.

Our team
I have been working as a Psychologist for 20 years and I am a specialist in Child Sleep. Throughout my career, I have accompanied many families, but it was the personal experience with my young son that led me to specialize in this area and to truly understand what you are going through.I know how exhausting and uncertain it can be. That’s why I accompany each family with the closeness of someone who has been there.
I graduated in nursing in Spain, but I always dreamed of being a midwife, so as soon as I finished my degree, I went to London. I lived and worked there for seven years.
What I liked most about the practice in the UK is the empathy, the respected and humanized birth, and that the system tends to favor naturalness, especially in decision-making, where care and respect for the woman is always at the center. She is the one who makes the decisions—in an informed way—and always based on the latest evidence. Thanks to my experience in London, I understood that many practices exist that are as common as they are outdated, and too many procedures and protocols are backed by myths, without medical support.
I returned to Spain in November 2020 full of excitement, to continue accompanying women in one of the most relevant and special times of their lives.
From a young age, I knew very clearly that I wanted to dedicate myself to the most beautiful profession in the world—I wanted to be a midwife! I completed my midwifery specialty in Barcelona surrounded by wonderful professionals who taught me to love my profession even more and to always work following scientific evidence. I have worked in clinical settings both in the delivery room and in primary care centers, which has allowed me to gain great experience in all areas surrounding the care of moms in the different stages of their lives. Now, alongside Bel&Mums, I put my knowledge and experience at your disposal to help you live this wonderful stage with confidence and without fear.
I trained as a nurse and then as a midwife in Madrid. I have worked in many hospitals in Madrid and I am also a professor at the University (Pediatrics and Obstetrics).
I put all my knowledge and effort into helping families like yours going through the first weeks of motherhood. It is a wonderful time, but it can also become a challenge, so I will help you feel accompanied and supported to ensure that you and your baby are well and healthy.

I completed my specialty in Family and Community Nursing, working in health centers as well as in general and pediatric emergencies. Thanks to this, I have been able to develop my profession toward caring for families at all stages of their lives.
All this experience has led me to what I am most passionate about: training. For that reason, and alongside Bel&Mums, it makes me very happy to teach the CPR and Pediatric First Aid course for babies and children.
Together we will learn how to act to manage and resolve some difficult situations and thus protect your children.
